Toilets in the past

Bathrooms of the past
Morizo-The water situation in the office, before the relocation and renovation, was quite difficult.
This was the only area that we really wanted to refurbish.
Much of the small amount of money spent on the refurbishment was poured into this area.
As the water area was considered unclean, old houses were built away from the kimon (devil's gate) or away from the skeletal structure of the building.
Even if they were covered with stone or tiles, water would always permeate through the gaps and eventually cause problems such as corrosion and debris.
In anticipation of this, the building was designed to be easy to renew.
As expected, the building's water system was also badly damaged, and the wooden parts inside the tiles were falling apart.
The pillars and beams were rotting. (This is common in the refurbishment of old buildings.)

Reinforced walls.
Replaced beams
The walls had been renovated several times.
I designed to replace or reinforce the damaged areas.
The ceiling was dismantled from the entire roof and replaced with new beams.

New glass roof

Bathtubs that are not cat's-legs

Cedar wood washbasin
Now with a glass roof and no ceiling, it is brighter.
The bathroom is combined with the washbasin and toilet.
The materials are white tiles and solid cedar wood.
According to my knowledge at the time, it was a promise to coat the wood around the water with urethane, but 15 years later I regretted that I should have used an oil finish, considering the maintenance.
The wooden paving boards in the bath zone were a pain to maintain and soon the floor was also tiled.
There was a lot to be learned while using the system, and we experimented with various things.
There were also experiments with share houses, which was part of the original conception.
We often invited people from all walks of life to parties.
What was interesting at the time was that when people saw the bathtub, they would remember it as "the office with the cat-leg bathtub".
It's not a cat's legs at all, but people may have an imprint that a bathtub on the floor = cat's legs. (^^;)
This property was initially rented with a four-year commitment.
It has already been 19 years since that day when I thought that if I had to move after four years, I would take this bathtub with me.
The bathtub that is not still cat-legs is still there.
